Today was interesting. Any of you goons out there older than 25 may
know a guy by the name of Eric Carter. Pro BMX racer that turned from a
steady BMX career into a lucrative mountain bike life for himself as a
four-cross and downhill racer. Today we were deep in the Inland Empire
shooting for the Mongoose mtb catalog and happened upon two rattle
snakes literally 6 inches from our feet as we were grooming a turn. We
both did what we thought was best- I ran and Eric picked them up with a
stick and watched them hurl themselves at him. Aside from being one of
the best riders I’ve ever worked with, he’s out of his mind. I guess
the fact that those snakes could have turned both of us into fledgling
carcasses this afternoon didn’t bother him are much as it did me. Ryan
Guettler’s double backflip and Scotty Cranmer’s flair to tailtaps are
going to seem like the Disney channel compared to the rattlesnake
roundup.
In BMX news,
Mirraco has a nice and long web
video I helped film Dave Rytell and Mike Spinner for a couple months
ago in Florida. Peep Dave Rytell’s 720 over the street spine and Mike
Spinner’s 1080. Hot clips. Will Stroud dropped that one this week and
they also released the
Levis
BMX Team video as well. Check that shit out, those guys film with
the quality knob set to 11.
